Aluminium Chloride 30%
Salicylic acid 3%
Gel
30 mL
• Indication:
o Severe sweating of the hands & feet and groin
o Failure to achieve effective control with a high concentration Aluminium chloride or as an alternative product to aluminium chloride
• Ingredients: Aqua, Di-ethylene glycol mono-ethyl ether, Aluminium Chloride, Alcohol, Polyquaternium-10,
Salicylic acid.
Directions for use:
Ensure the area where you are applying DRI H&F is completely dry before using the product. This is to avoid skin burning and irritation.
When you first start using the product, apply it to dry skin, after a cool shower at bedtime.
While sleeping, sweating is limited, and the active ingredients have a better chance of being absorbed into the sweat glands. Wash the product off in the morning, and do not reapply. This should stop your sweating during the day.
Apply DRI H&F every night for the following 7 nights, as tolerated, until your sweating improves. Continue to use as needed. When you first start applying DRI H&F, it can take up to 2 months to benefit from the full effect. If you start sweating again, restart the nightly application (apply DRI H&F every night for the following 7 nights).
For sensitive skin, 2-3 applications per week at bedtime are initially recommended. Avoid shaving for 24 hours before and after application.
Warnings:
Ensure the area is dry before use. Avoid contact with clothes and jewellery to avoid staining.
Only use product on your skin. Avoid getting the product in your eyes, lips, nose or mouth or genital area. In case of accidental contact with the eyes or other sensitive areas, rinse well with water.
If you forget to use the product, do not use a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. Apply the next dose as usual.
The following may happen with this product:
o Application site stinging, irritation, itching, swelling, burning sensation, pain, rash, and redness of the skin.
You can reduce the chances of stinging and irritation by making sure that:
o You dry your skin carefully before you apply the product
o You do not put the product on any irritated or sensitive areas of your skin (such as cuts or grazes)
If the area does get irritated, stop using the product for a while to see if it helps
How does it work:
There are two types of sweat glands found in your body, apocrine and eccrine glands. The eccrine or sweat glands are far more numerous. They’re responsible for most of the sweat your body produces.
When aluminium chloride gets close to water aka sweat, it soaks up the water and becomes a gel. The DRI H&F gel forms a plug in the sweat gland, therefore preventing sweat from reaching the skin’s surface.
Contra-indications:
Aluminium chloride is effective antiperspirant, but with acidic properties may yield unacceptable side effects.
Do not use this product if you are sensitive or allergic to salicylic acid or aspirin or any of the other ingredients.
Do not use if your skin is irritated, inflamed or broken. Avoid use on damaged skin or if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
Keep out of reach of children. Try not to get the product on breasts whilst breastfeeding, and take special care to wash off any traces before you begin feeding.
